PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp including metal halide filler which achieves good maintenance as much as possible.
SOLUTION : The high-pressure discharge lamp includes a bulb for surrounding a discharge volume, and filler containing rare gas from a group of thallium halide, mercury, neon, argon, krypton, xenon is housed in the discharge volume. The filler contains iodine and bromine halide, too. A ratio of TlI to a sum of TlI and TlBr is 25-75 mass%.
