A system for associating information with a medical study and informing the user of a medical information management system that new information pertaining to the medical study has arrived and should be considered. If the medical study to which the information is associated is not open and under review by the user of the system, the system will append an identifier to the study file, thus informing the user that new information has arrived and has been associated with the study If the medical study to which the information is associated is open and being reviewed by the user of the system, the system will present to the user a graphical user interface (GUI) informing the user that new information pertaining to the currently open study has been received The GUI can also be used to allow the user to acknowledge receipt of the information. |
