PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a solid golf ball having an excellent flying performance, abrasion resistance, and durability to cracking when hitting it repeatedly and being remarkably advantageous in a competition.
SOLUTION : This solid golf ball includes a solid core and a cover layer for covering it, wherein the solid core is formed of a rubber composition including a rubber base material containing polybutadiene rubber synthesized by using a rare earth element-based catalyst, an organosulfur compound, an unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or its metal salt, and an inorganic filler, the deformation of the solid core under a predetermined load is 2.0-4.0 mm, and the solid core includes a specific hardness distribution; and the cover layer is formed by injection-molding a single resin composition primarily composed of (A) a thermoplastic polyurethane and (B) polyisocyanate compound, the thickness of the cover layer is 0.5-2.5 mm, the surface hardness is a Shore D hardnesses of 50-70, and the deformation of the ball under the predetermined load is 2.0-3.8 mm.
