PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a sensor for a gas cooking appliance having a simple structure and high heat resistance, reducing decline in performance caused by heat and enabling its cost to be set inexpensive.
SOLUTION : The sensor for the gas cooking appliance includes an abutment part 10 abutting on a cooking utensil 28 and elastically energized so as to enable retract by placement of the cooking utensil 28; a support shaft 26 connected to the abutment part 10 and supporting the abutment part 10 so as to freely protrude/recess it; and a cable 20 which is an cooperative member inserted to the support shaft 26 and connected to the abutment part 10. The sensor is further provided with a magnetic material cylinder 34 fixed to a predetermined position of the cable 20; a permanent magnet 32 made of rare earth, having heat resistance and arranged in a range where the magnetic material cylinder 34 is moved in conjunction with the movement of the abutment part 10 so as to oppose to the magnetic material cylinder 34 when the abutment part 10 is protruded; and a reed switch opposing to the permanent magnet 32 and having 3 AT or lower of a difference between an operation value and a release value.
