PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To create a composition which compensates for the defects that a dietary fiber and a rare sugar each have and has a new improvement of the biological function as well.
SOLUTION : The biological function improving composition includes a dietary fiber and a rare sugar as active ingredients. The biological function improving composition includes the dietary fiber in an amount of not less than 1 wt.% based on the entire composition and the rare sugar and/or its derivative in an amount of not less than 2 wt.% based on the entire composition. The rare sugar is D-psicose and/or its derivative. The improvement of the biological function is one or more improvements of liver function, a blood sugar level, a serum lipids value, an increase in weight, and visceral fat accumulation. The dietary fiber is a water soluble dietary fiber. The dietary fiber is a scarcely-digestible dextrin. Food and drink, a health food, a drug, a quasi drug, an oral composition or a cosmetic includes the above biological function improving composition. A method for producing food and drink, a health food, a drug, a quasi drug, an oral composition or a cosmetic includes incorporating the above biological function improving composition.
