A large harmonic current flows through an armature winding (16CR) during a high‑load heating operation to inductively heat a rare earth magnet (14MRb) and reduce the residual magnetic flux density. The rotational speed of a radial gap type motor (10R) is thereby increased. The heat of the heated rare earth magnet (14MRb) is recovered by the refrigerant since the rare earth magnet (14MRb) is provided near a refrigerant channel (30P) that is approximately parallel to the refrigerant flow line. A high rotational speed, relative to the same set torque value, is obtained with weak field system control produced by current phase advance during the high‑load cooling operation. |
