PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a metal halide lamp capable of lowering its starting voltage without reducing the pressure of a starting rare gas enclosed in a ceramic arc tube even if it has high wattage.SOLUTION : This metal halide lamp is provided with an outer-tube bulb 12 for housing the ceramic arc tube 11 and a proximity conductor 1 therein. The ceramic arc tube 11 filled with a metal halide includes a pair of capillaries 11a and 11b, a main tube 11c sandwiched between both the capillaries, and a pair of electrodes 11d arranged on both capillary sides in the main tube. Fixation parts 1a and 1b of the proximity conductor 1 to the capillaries are arranged to cover ranges of 1.4-2.6 mm from intersections between linear parts of the capillaries 11a and 11b and curvature parts 11e and 11f for connecting the capillaries to the main tube 11c.COPYRIGHT : (C)2010, JPO&INPIT |
