PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst for synthesizing chlorine, the catalytic activity of which is improved and to provide a method for manufacturing the catalyst for synthesizing chlorine and a method for synthesizing chlorine, in which hydrogen chloride is converted at an excellent conversion rate.
SOLUTION : The catalyst for synthesizing chlorine comprises : an active component containing a copper element, an alkali metal element and a rare earth element; and a carrier on which the active component is deposited. The carrier is obtained by subjecting an untreated carrier to predetermined treatment.
