PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a system for assisting diagnosis of the presence or absence of a lesion which acquires clear tomographic images of the breasts and its vicinity automatically by transmitting and receiving ultrasonic wave to and from the breasts and displays an image of the breasts three-dimensionally.
SOLUTION : A system for assisting mammographic diagnosis 1 is provided, which includes a tank 2, a pre-scanning means for approximating the shape of the breasts hanging down into and immersed in the tank 2, a main scanning means for measuring the internal condition of the breasts, a judging and processing means for indicating a part suspected of a lesion from tomographic images acquired by a main scanning, and a re-scanning means for re-imaging the part indicated by the judging and processing means. The main scanning means and the re-scanning means has an arm mechanism 3 that moves an ultrasonic probe 4 in such a way that ultrasonic waves enter the breasts from an almost normal line direction.
