PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a thermal barrier coating material which has thermal conductivity lower than that of rare earth stabilized zirconia.
SOLUTION : The thermal barrier coating material according to one embodiment includes, as a principal component, a compound expressed by composition formula (1) : Ln1-xTaxO1.5+x (where 0.13≤x≤0.24, Ln denotes one or two or more elements selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y and lanthanoids elements). The thermal barrier coating material according to another embodiment includes, as a principal component, a compound expressed by composition formula (2) : Ln1-xNbxO1.5+x (where 0.13≤x≤0.24, Ln denotes one or two or more elements selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y and lanthanoids elements).
