PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve a production ratio of a composite oxide, an aimed product, by suppressing production of byproducts in the production process of an exhaust gas treatment catalyst.
SOLUTION : The method for manufacturing an exhaust gas treatment catalyst involves stirring a slurry containing raw material particles containing a metal or non-metal element, a noble metal carried on the raw material particles, an alkaline earth metal salt, and a crosslinking substance and drying and firing the stirred slurry to produce a composite oxide of the metal or non-metal element bearing the noble metal and the alkaline earth metal.
