PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an air treatment apparatus with high treatment efficiency capable of being continuously operated without reducing performance of a catalyst and stopping discharge in the air treatment apparatus for treating VOCs in which the catalyst and discharge are used together.
SOLUTION : The air treatment apparatus is provided with a high voltage electrode 2, an earthed porous catalyst body 3 arranged with a predetermined distance so as to be opposed to the high voltage electrode 2, a heat generation body 4 for heating mounted to an outer periphery of a side surface part of the porous catalyst body (earth ground electrode) 3, a high voltage power source 5 connected for applying a high voltage between the high voltage electrode 2 and the porous catalyst body (earth ground electrode) 3, an air-suction fan 6 provided at a rear side of the porous catalyst body (earth ground electrode) 3, and a dust-removal filter 7 provided at a front side of the high voltage electrode 2. VOCs can be efficiently treated by using the catalyst and discharge together.
