A process for producing an R-Fe-B rare-earth sintered magnet containing at least one lightweight rare-earth element (RL) (at least one of Nd and Pr) and at least one heavy rare-earth element (RH) (at least one of Dy and Tb). An R-Fe-B rare-earth sintered magnet is prepared in which when the contents of the rare-earth element(s), oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen are expressed by X (mass%), ZO (mass%), ZC (mass%), and ZN (mass%), respectively, and ZO+ZC+ZN is expressed by Y (mass%), then the contents satisfy the relationships (0.114X-3.17)≤Y≤(0.157X-4.27), 0
