PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for increasing a coercive force by carrying out thermal dispersion treatment in a prescribed atmosphere and temperature and a time after forming a film on the surface of a magnet piece by application.
SOLUTION : In this method for manufacturing a rare earth permanent magnet materials, the surface of a rear earth sintered permanent magnet configured of an alloy or inter-metal compound phase with an R1-Fe-B system composition (R1 is one or two elements selected from Nd and Pr) as a main body is covered b or contacts with hypoxia quantity rare earth oxide powder shown by a composition formula R2Ox (R2 is one or two elements selected from Dy or Tb, x<1.0) obtained by reducing R22C3 or R2C2 as the rare earth carbide of R2 metal with at least one type of high boiling point active metal selected from the group of Ti, Zr, Hf, Mo, Nb, Ta, V, or W, and the thermal dispersion of the R2 of the R2Ox is carried out from the surface of the magnet.
