It new ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic magnesium alloys are described, their preparation, as well as applications using components made from the alloy. The magnesium alloy with ferro-or ferrimagnetic or-magnetizable alloy up a magnesium alloy or pure magnesium intermetallic phases is obtained by in the melt with the alloying constituents for the magnetic intermetallic phases, wherein selected as components for the magnetizable intermetallic phases are : a) a rare-earth element or a rare-earth-at least on the one hand and b mischmetall) cobalt (Ni) (co) and/or nickel from the group of ferromagnetic transition metals on the other hand, in the form of a mixture of the individual elements, a master alloy or a mixture of pre-alloys. |
