PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a metallic material for plastic working which has excellent lubricity, seizure resistance and corrosion resistance even if phosphorous is not incorporated into a film, and also has a suitable friction coefficient applicable to each stage in plastic working.
SOLUTION : Disclosed is a metallic material for plastic working whose surface is provided with a lubricant film; wherein, the lubricant film includes the following components A to D in the following range by mass ratio to the total content of A+B+C+D, and also, when a Bowden test is performed, its friction coefficient at 25°C satisfies the range of 0.03 to 0.2 : the A component : a water soluble inorganic salt of 10 to 30%; the B component : an organometallic salt of 5 to 30%; the C component : an alkaline-earth metal salt of 10 to 84.5%; and the D component : a reactant between a copolymer of α-olefin and maleic anhydride, and N, N-dialkylaminoalkylamine as a solid dispersant of 0.5 to 30%.
