PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical fiber for optical amplification that is suppressed in an increase in loss caused by photo-darkening without deteriorating conversion efficiency, and an optical fiber laser using the same.SOLUTION : The optical fiber 1 for optical amplification executes the incidence and transmission of an exciting light of ≥400 nm and ≤2, 000 nm. The optical fiber 1 for optical amplification has a core 2 containing deuterium molecules and at least one kind of rare-earth ion, and a clad 3 covering the outer periphery of the core 2.
