PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a metal phosphate exhibiting a higher brightness.
SOLUTION : The metal phosphate comprises a compound in which a part of an element M2 in a compound represented by formula (1) : M1M2aPbOc (wherein M1 is one or more alkali metal elements selected from the group consisting of Li, Na and K; M2 is one or more alkaline earth metal elements selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba; a is a value in a range of ≥3 and ≤5; b is a value in a range of ≥2 and ≤4; and c is a value in a range of ≥8.5 and ≤15.5) is replaced with one or more elements (M3) selected from the group consisting of rare earth elements and Mn. The phosphor comprises the metal phosphate. The light-emitting element has the phosphor.
