PURPOSE : An antifouling additive is provided to suppress attach and growth of microorganism, and to impart antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-fungi properties to a coating composition.CONSTITUTION : A method for manufacturing an antifouling additive comprises the steps of : mixing rare earth materials 100.0 parts by weight and barite 150-250 parts by weight to prepare a mixture; calcining the mixture to prepare the calcined material of the mixture of rare earth materials and barite; mixing 45-60 weight%% of the calcined material of the mixture of rare earth materials and barite, 15-30 weight%% of zeolite absorbed with at least one ion, and 20-35 weight%% of tourmaline, wherein at least one ion is selected from the group of a sulfur ion, silver ion and zinc ion; and pulverizing the mixture of calcined material, zeolite and tourmaline.© KIPO 2009 |
