PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve NOx removing performance by carrying a specified amt. of a metal such as an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal on a catalytic layer carrying a catalytic metal. and then impregnating a mixture of a soln. of the carried metal with a soln. of the catalytic metal into the catalytic layer. SOLUTION : A metal selected from among an alkali metal such as Na, an alkaline earth metal such as Sr and a rare earth metal such as La is carried on a catalytic layer 4 carrying a catalytic metal by >=12wt.% of the amt. of the layer 4 and a mixture of a soln. of the carried metal with a soln. of the catalytic metal is impregnated into the layer 4 to carry and disperse the metals. In the resultant catalyst C, the coating of part of the catalytic metal with the carried metal can be prevented. |
