PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas capable of preventing a catalytic activity reduction caused by palladium particle growth, and maintaining excellent catalytic activity for a long time under high temperature or oxidation reduction fluctuation, or further in case of long period usage.
SOLUTION : The catalyst for purifying exhaust gas is prepared by mixing a first heat resistant oxide having Pd dissolved therein, and containing cerium, zirconium, and a rare earth element (except for cerium) with a second heat resistant oxide having Pd supported thereon, and containing cerium, zirconium, and a rare earth element (except for cerium) by a weight mixing ratio of 1/9-9/1.
