PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric porcelain composition and electronic components to be used for medium to high voltages with high rated voltages, having a high dielectric constant and excellent DC bias characteristics, electrostriction characteristics and life characteristics with high temperature load.
SOLUTION : The dielectric porcelain composition contains sub-components in the following proportions in terms of oxides or compound oxides with respect to 100 mol of barium titanate; 9 to 13 mol of BaZrO3, 4.5 to 5.5 mol of oxides of rare earth elements R, 2.7 to 5.7 mol of Mg oxides, 0.5 to 1.5 mol of Mn oxides, and 3.0 to 3.9 mol of Si oxides. The dielectric porcelain composition includes surface diffusion particles each composed of a center portion and a diffusion phase existing around the center portion and containing at least Zr, Mg and R. The proportion of surface diffusion particles by number is not less than 60%. When concentrations of Zr, R and Mg in the diffusion phase are represented by x (atom%), y (atom%) and z (atom%), respectively, x, y, z are present in a region enclosed by a triangle (including the lines that form the triangle) having vertexes A, B, C in a ternary diagram.
