A toluene selective disproportionation catalyst comprises : a) 45-95wt%% ZSM-5 molecular sieve with average particle diameter of 0.3-6 micron and SiO2/Al2O3 mole ratio of 20-120; b) 0.01-30wt%% at least one metal or oxide thereof selected from the group consisting of group II B, group III B, rare earth, and group VIII other than Ni of periodic table of elements; c) 0-20wt%% at least one metal or oxide thereof selected from the group consisting of group VA, group VIB or alkaline earth metal of periodic table of elements; d) 1-25wt%% inert face coating of silica derived from organopolysiloxane; and e) 1-50wt%% binder. A method for toluene selective disproportionated to paraxylene includes contacting the reactants comprising toluene with the catalyst under the condition for toluene selective disproportionation.© KIPO & WIPO 2009 |
