PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To prevent breakage of hollow fiber membranes and to efficiently clean without losing air by diffusion, while suppressing re-attachment of turbid matter stripped by cleaning by making it easily dischargeable from the periphery of the hollow fiber membranes.
SOLUTION : A filtration module 1 contains the hollow fiber membranes 7 in a vertically opened housing 4 having a pair of oppositely disposed end plates 2, and a pair of side plates 3 extended from both ends of the end plates 2 toward the facing direction of the end plates 2, the hollow fiber membranes 7 being stretched in the facing direction. The lower end side space of the pair of the side plate 3 is set larger than the upper end side space.
