PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a growth base material which can make more effective use of arbor resources than ever, and can create a soil condition suitable for plant growth in a short time, and to provide a greening method.
SOLUTION : The growth base material 1d has a structure obtained according to the greening method composed of the following steps. Firstly (in the step (a)), arbores 1a generated in the construction field, formed of the arbor resources including fallen trees and drawn roots, are conveyed to an arbor crusher 12 by using a hydraulic excavator 11, and secondly (in the step (b)), the arbores 1a generated in the construction field are crushed by the arbor crusher 12 to manufacture woody chips 1b. Then (in the step (c)), the woody chips 1b are conveyed to a carbonizing device 14 by using a conveyor 13 to be subjected to carbonization, and subsequently (in the step (d)), sub-materials 2-1 to 2-n formed of a soil improving agent, mixed earth, seeds, fertilizers, a connecting material, a curing material, etc. are mixed into carbonized woody chips 1c obtained by the carbonization at a predetermined ratio by weight or the like, followed by agitating the resultant mixture of the carbonized woody chips 1c and the sub-materials 2-1 to 2-n (in the step (e)).
