PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a discharge lamp and a light-emitting device using it of high darkness startability, in one with electrodes arranged at the outer periphery of a bulb.SOLUTION : The discharge lamp 1 is provided with a bulb 2, a pair of electrodes arranged at either end of the bulb 2, a phosphor layer 5 and a protective film 4 arranged on an inner face of the bulb 2, and a discharging medium 7 sealed in the bulb 2. At least one of the pair of the electrodes is an outer electrode 3 in contact with an outer periphery face of the bulb 2, and the protective film 4 is at least arranged at the inner periphery face part, in correspondence with a part of the bulb 2 where the outer electrode 3 is in contact, containing rare-earth metal with an electronegativity of 1.2 or smaller.COPYRIGHT : (C)2008, JPO&INPIT |
