PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical amplifier capable of coping with changes of more various requirement specifications.SOLUTION : An optical amplifier 1 includes a rare earth-added optical waveguide 12b, excitation light sources 11b and 13b, a light intensity detector 14b, multiplexers 16a and 16b for multiplexing excited light emitted from the excitation light sources 11b and 13b and signal light; and optical isolators 15a and 15b. The rare earth-added optical waveguide 12b, the excitation light sources 11b and 13b, and the light intensity detector are stored in different package members respectively, and the rare earth-added optical waveguide, the excitation light sources, the light intensity detector 14b, the multiplexers 16a and 16b, and the optical isolators 15a and 15b are optically connected with one another by using optical fibers.COPYRIGHT : (C)2008, JPO&INPIT |
