PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a balloon for a catheter to be used for a balloon catheter for dilation with improved passing property in an affected area by molding a catheter balloon with a simple manufacturing method and making a balloon connection part and a tapered part thin, and to provide its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION : The manufacturing method includes : a process for forming a preparation parison 1B, where a prescribed width of non-stretching part is left at the center part, mounting the parison inside a mold 2, heating the parison at first molding temperature of ≥secondary transition temperature and ≤primary transition temperature, making a pressurized fluid to flow into the preparation parison so as to perform primary stretching, performing primary molding to obtain a balloon shape having a balloon part matching the inner surface shape of the mold, the tapered part, and a small diameter connection part, and then, performing heating at second molding temperature of ≥primary molding temperature and ≤the primary transition temperature without replacing the molds; and a process for re-stretching both the sides of the parison. Thus, secondary molding to make the connection part thin is performed.
