PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an inexpensively manufacturable electrostatic precipitator efficiently removing dust by preventing re-scattering of dust.
SOLUTION : This electrostatic precipitator 1a is provided with a roughly cylindrical electrostatic precipitator body 2 having a gas introducing port 3 and a gas discharge port 4 with a roughly tapered hopper 10 formed below the gas discharge port 4; a discharge electrode 8 set inside the electrostatic precipitator body 2; a cylindrical collection electrode 6 and a cylindrical screen-like auxiliary electrode 7 in non-contact state set outside the electrode 8; a gas introducing pipe 9 connected to the gas introducing port 3 and having an air fan 14 built therein; a DC power source 12a connected to the auxiliary electrode 7 and discharge electrode 8 via wiring 13a; and a DC power source 12b connected to the collection electrode 6 and auxiliary electrode 7 via wiring 13b.
