PURPOSE : A non-powered apparatus for removal of nonpoint source pollutants generated from alpine agricultural areas is provided to remove the nonpoint source pollutants by using the law of gravity of dropping water from a slope of an alpine agricultural land area, and enable the apparatus to be easily applied to the alpine agricultural areas including topography of slopes by making it not necessary to install incidental facilities such as an electrical equipment.
CONSTITUTION : A non-powered apparatus for removal of nonpoint source pollutants generated from alpine agricultural areas includes : a water collecting drain(10) for collecting nonpoint source pollutants discharged from the alpine agricultural areas and generated by a rainfall to drain the collected nonpoint source pollutants into treatment facilities; an earth and sand settling pond(20) for removing earth and sand and suspended solids that are contained in storm water, the earth and sand settling pond having the water collecting drain connected to a wall surface thereof adjacent to an alpine agricultural land area, and a first bank(21) formed on an opposite wall surface thereof such that collected influent flows to the slow sand filter by flowing over the first bank; a slow sand filter(30) for removing dissolved matters and fine suspended solids contained in the influent that has been flown over the first band of the earth and sand settling pond, the slow sand filter having a microorganism layer(35), a sand layer(32), a gravel layer(33) and a perforated underdrain(34) sequentially stacked therein and including a second bank(31) formed on an opposite wall surface thereof such that the second bank is lower than the first band; a discharge part(40) for discharging effluent that has passed through the slow sand filter to the outside; and a detour discharge part for enabling an excessive flow amount to make a detour around the slow sand filter. The microorganism layer includes gravels(a) and a bio-film(b) coated on the gravels.
