PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an aqueous coating composition most suitable for a multiple layered coated membrane-forming method integrating and shortening both processes using chemical treating liquid and a cation electrodeposition composition.
SOLUTION : This aqueous coating composition containing (A) a gallic acid-amine-modified diglycidyl ether type epoxy resin, (B) a curing agent and (C) a rare earth metal compound is provided with that (A) the gallic acid-amine-modified diglycidyl ether type epoxy resin is obtained by reacting (a) a diglycidyl ether type epoxy resin having a multiple number of oxazolidone ring in its molecular chain expressed by formula [wherein, R is a residual group obtained by removing an isocyanate group from diisocyanate compound; and (n) is a positive integer], (b) a monovalent active hydrogen compound, (c) a divalent active hydrogen compound, (d) gallic acid and (e) a secondary amine compound, and is characterized by having 1, 000 to 5, 000 number-average molecular weight.
