PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain steel capable of obtaining product steel high in tensile strength and having good toughness by executing quenching treatment in which, while steel having a specified compsn. heated to the temp. equal to or above the 1st one is kept at the temp. equal to or above the secondary one, cooling is executed at a specified cooling rate. SOLUTION : At the time of tempering and heat treating of the steel composed of steel having a compsn. contg., by weight, 0.02 to =3.4, while the temp. of the steel heated to >=1000 deg.C is kept >=850 deg.C, cooling is executed at a cooling rare of >=2 deg.C/s. |
