PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nickel hydrogen storage battery which exhibits superior cycle characteristics even if a rare earth-Mg-Ni based hydrogen storage alloy is used for a negative electrode.
SOLUTION : In the nickel hydrogen storage battery using the rare earths-Mg-Ni based hydrogen storage alloy for the negative electrode, a sintered nickel electrode plate using a sintered substrate is used as the positive electrode in which the fine pore radius in which the occupying volume ratio against the whole fine pore volume of the sintered substrate reaches the peak is 5 to 7 μm, and in which the accumulated whole fine pore volume of the fine pores each having the fine pore radius larger than 8.5 μm is 11% or less.
