PURPOSE : A back light unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device are provided to reduce the cross-talk derived from the infrared signal interference between a remote controller and the LCD device by minimizing the infrared light leakage from the panel.
CONSTITUTION : A light source part(330) delivers a light to an LCD panel. An infrared light reduction material having a tube for enclosing the light source part is located on the optical path between the light source part and the LCD panel, and is formed of a rare earth element. The light source part comprises an LED (Light Emitting Diode) chip enclosed by a cover of the infrared light reduction material. The light source part comprises a tube for enclosing the light source part itself. An LCD device comprises the light source part and the infrared light reduction material having the tube coating layer coated on the tube. The rare earth element includes ytterbium. An optical sheet is located at the rear of the LCD panel and includes a prism sheet and a protection sheet.
