PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a building material capable of constructing an earth structure excellent in strength and durability, its production method, and an earth structure excellent in strength and durability and constructed by using the building material.
SOLUTION : The building material comprises soil having a plastic limit of 19% or lower and a clay content of 25-35 mass%, cement or a cement-based solidifying material in an amount of 80-100 kg per 1 m3 of the soil, a fiber filament having a fiber length of 6-20 mm and a fiber diameter of 0.01-0.1 mm and with a volume ratio of 0.5-1.0% to the soil, a thickener with a volume ratio of 0.5-1.0% to the soil, and water in such an amount as to control the water content of the soil to be 10-30 mass%. The earth structure is constructed by putting the building material into a form and tamping it from the upside with a tamping bar to compact it and has a wetting density in a 28 day age of 1.6-2.5 g/cm3 and a uniaxial compression strength of 2-10 N/mm2.
