The invention relates to a fibre laser for generating ultra-short pulses. According to the invention, the fibre laser comprises a resonant cavity including a doped optical fibre (F) as an amplifier medium and at least one dispersive element (Gl, G2, D) with anomalous group velocity dispersion (GVD), the fibre (F) and the at least one dispersion element (G1, G2, D) being arranged in the optical path inside the laser cavity, whereby the optical fibre (F) is a rare-earth-doped optical large- mode -area (LMA) -fibre having a normal GVD. |
