PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing polyimide particulate of a controlled particle size containing a rare earth ion, a transition metal ion, an organic dyestuff, etc. SOLUTION : The polyimide particulate containing a compound, which generates a rare earth ion or transition metal ion, or a coloring compound is manufactured by injecting a polymer solution prepared by dissolving a compound, which generates a rare earth ion or transition metal ion, or a coloring compound in a concentration of 0.1-10 wt.% to a polyamic acid into a poor solvent selected for example from an aliphatic solvent, alicyclic solvent, aromatic solvent, CS2and a mixture of at least two sorts of above-mentioned solvents, which are poor for dissolving above-mentioned polyamic acid, a compound, which generates a rare earth ion or transition metal ion, and a coloring compound, controlling the temperature at -20°C-60°C or controlling a mixing ratio of CS2to above-mentioned poor solvents to give a polyamic acid fine particle having an average particle size of 5-10, 000 nm, and then by chemically imidizing, thermally imidizing or by thermally imidizing after chemical imidization of above-mentioned polyamic acid fine particle.
