PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve weatherproof of the surface of a material without plating or giving resin covering to a rare earth magnetic alloy. SOLUTION : The method for improving weatherproof of a rare earth magnetic alloy comprises bringing the surface of an R-Fe-B or R-Fe-B-C base rare earth magnetic alloy (where R is at least one kind of a rear earth element, and a part of Fe may be substituted by Co) into contact with a solution containing fatty acid salt compounds, preferably, after contacting an acid solution.
