简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of obtaining liquid containing nickel with high purity by simply removing impurities like manganese, iron, cobalt, and rare earth element from sulfuric acid solvent in which, separated electrode activator is dissolved, when recovering valuable metal like nickel from a used nickel- hydrogen secondary cell. SOLUTION : The used nickel-hydrogen secondary cell is crushed, and the electrode activator collected by physical separation is dissolved in sulfuric acid, and manganese is oxidized, precipitated, and removed from the solution. Subsequently, iron and rare earth elements are precipitated and removed by carbonation, and cobalt and another impurities are extracted by a solvent extraction method using phosphoric acid group acidic extractant with the pH ranging 3-5.5.
