PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet having a high electric resistance in which lowering of magnet characteristics is minimized, and to provide its production process. SOLUTION : Surface of magnetic powder for rare earth magnet is coated partially, more preferably entirely, with an amorphous rare earth oxide containing carbon represented by general formula (I) and a rare earth magnet is produced by compression molding the magnetic powder. The general formula (I) : ROxCy(where R is terbium (Tb), dysprosium (Dy), holmium (Ho), erbium (Er), thorium (Tm), ytterbium (Yb) or lutetium (Lu)). COPYRIGHT : (C)2005, JPO&NCIPI |
