PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a particulate filter having excellent particulate burning property as well as excellent exhaust gas cleaning capability at a low temperature.
SOLUTION : The particulate filter is equipped with a catalyst layer 7. At least in a part of the catalyst layer 7 of the particulate filter, a first catalyst member 8 constitutes a lower layer and a second catalyst member 9 constitutes an upper layer exposing itself on the surface of the catalyst layer 7. The first catalyst member 8 includes activated alumina particles supporting platinum (Pt), the second catalyst member 9 includes Zr/Nd composite oxide particles containing a rare earth metal M, and at least either of the first catalyst member 8 and the second catalyst member 9 includes Ce/Zr composite oxide particles containing a rare earth metal R.
