PURPOSE : A spark plug is provided to obtain HTO(High Temperature Oxidation) resistivity and spark abrasion resistivity by using electrode material in which inter metallic compound is precipitated in a parent phase of Ni as an electrode.CONSTITUTION : A spark plug(100) comprises a central electrode(20) and a ground electrode(30). The ground electrode is exposed within a combustion chamber of a internal combustion engine. The ground electrode forms a spark discharge gap with a central electrode. The central electrode or the ground electrode comprises Ni as a principal component. The central electrode or the ground electrode is composed of electrode material in which inter metallic compound is intergranularly precipitated. The inter metallic compound is made of Ni and rare earth metal.© KIPO 2009 |
