PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To reduce generation of fume (fine particles) when plasma-cutting a workpiece such as a steel plate.
SOLUTION : Disclosed is a plasma cutting method for cutting a workpiece by jetting a plasma arc toward the workpiece from a nozzle of a plasma torch. The workpiece is cut such that : a mixed gas serving as a plasma gas composed of one or more kinds of gases selected from the a halogen gas, a rare gas, and a hydrogen gas up to the group II in the periodic table and of a gas including oxygen, argon or nitrogen, is supplied around an electrode; and a plasma arc formed by conducting electricity between the electrode and a nozzle, or between the electrode and the workpiece is jetted toward the workpiece. Alternatively, the workpiece is cut such that : one or more kinds of gases selected from the a halogen gas, a rare gas, and a hydrogen gas up to the group II in the periodic table are jetted toward the workpiece along with a plasma arc containing oxygen, argon or a nitrogen as a main ingredient.
