PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an R-Fe-B-based rare earth sintered magnet that efficiently utilizes heavy rare earth elements RH, with the heavy rare-earth elements RH dispersed in an outer shell of a main phase crystal grain, extending over the entire body of the magnet. SOLUTION : In a manufacturing method of an R-Fe-B-based rare-earth sintered magnet of the present invention, an R-Fe-B-based rare-earth sintered magnet object, having an R2Fe14B-type compound crystal grain containing a light rare-earth element RL (at least one of Nd and Pr) as a main rare-earth element R as a main phase, is prepared. Next, the sintered magnet object is heated, while supplying a heavy rare-earth element RH (at least one type selected from a group consisting of Dy, Ho, and Tb) to the surface of the sintered magnet object, and the heavy rare-earth element RH is dispersed into the rare earth sintered magnet object from the surface.
