PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a mortar composition which achieves the utilization of a paper resource, can give a hardened mortar with good specific gravity/strength balance, is easily placed on the site, and can afford to perform an earth filling work excellent in productivity and placeability and to provide a lightweight hardened mortar using the same.
SOLUTION : The mortar composition is a dispersion comprising 15-40 pts.mass disintegrated paper fiber component containing a water-repellent component such as vinyl acetate or paraffin wax and 100 pts.mass cement. A lightweight hardened mortar of a specific gravity of 1.3-1.5 and a compressive strength of 900-3, 000 kN/m2 is obtained by adding 150-300 pts.mass water to 100 pts.mass above mortar composition and agitating the mixture while entraining air in the mixture.
