PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an n-type thermoelectric conversion material which consists of carbide-based ceramic and has a high output factor.
SOLUTION : The thermoelectric conversion material comprises an [RC2] layer formed by making RC6 octahedron (R is at least one elements chosen from Zr, Sc, Y and a rare earth element) share a ridge in a crystal structure as a partial structure. Namely, the material has the crystal structure where two different types of layers formed of the layer of high electrical conductivity and the layer of low electrical conductivity are alternately laminated. Thus, it shows sufficient electrothermal characteristics.
