An electrode for a lithium secondary battery is provided to impart excellent safety, thermal stability and cycle life characteristics to a lithium secondary battery by forming a coating layer on an electrode active material layer. An electrode for a lithium secondary battery comprises : a collector; an active material layer formed on the collector; and a coating layer formed on the active material layer and comprising a lithium ion conductive polymer and an inorganic material represented by the formula of MwHxPyOz, wherein M is any one element selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, Group 13 elements, Group 14 elements, transition metals, rare earth elements and combinations thereof; w is 1-4; x is 0-4; y is 1-7; and z is 2-30. |
