PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an external electrode type rare gas fluorescent lamp in which tinting in a light-emitting tube is suppressed to occur even if lighted for a long time, in which reduction of brightness maintenance factor is suppressed, and which is suitably applicable to a backlight or the like of a crystal display device.SOLUTION : In the external electrode type rare gas fluorescent lamp which is equipped with a phosphor layer in the interior of the fluorescent tube, in which a pair of belt like external electrodes are formed on an outer surface of the light-emitting tube in the light-emitting tube axis direction, and in which rare gas mainly composed of xenon gas is sealed in the light-emitting tube, this is the external electrode type rare gas fluorescent lamp equipped with a dielectric layer having a function of suppressing transmission of vacuum ultraviolet light and reflecting the light between the phosphor layer and the light-emitting tube.COPYRIGHT : (C)2009, JPO&INPIT |
