PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To abstract washed sand by feeding earth and sand into a water tank, and washing the earth and sand to remove clay, without compression sedimentation.
SOLUTION : As compression sedimentation of earth and sand to the bottom part of a water tank when storing the earth and sand in the water tank is attributed to deficiency of water in a sedimentary layer because water is excluded from a sedimentary sand layer, an apparatus for washing earth and sand includes a water tank capable of storing the earth and sand in water without compression sedimentation, a device for washing the earth and sand, and a device for separating clay from the water mixed with the clay, to obtain the washed sand by removing clay mixed with the earth and sand, and clay attached to the sand, thereby obtaining the washed sand without compression settling and not leaving a clay constituent in the washed sand.
