简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To achieve an alcohol oxidizing property by improving characteristics that a catalyst system of platinum and tin efficiently oxidizes ethanol, and by using no rare metal such as Ru indispensable especially for the case of using methanol as a fuel regarding an electrode catalyst related to the alcohol oxidizing property. SOLUTION : This is a manufacturing method of a catalyst for a direct type alcohol fuel cell electrode composed of the catalyst in which platinum nano particles are carried on tin oxide nano particles, and moreover, the manufacturing method of the catalyst in which the platinum nano particles are carried on the tin oxide nano particles from (1) a process of forming a solution wherein platinum chloride (PtCl2) and tin chloride (SnCl2) are solved in a tetrahydrofurane (THF) solution so that an atomic ratio of platinum (Pt) and tin (Sn) becomes 3 to 1 while stirring in argon atmosphere at normal temperature, (2) a process of adding the THF solution containing N(C8H17)4[BEt3H] to the solution, and (3) a process of filtering the solution in the air and vacuum drying the solution.
